Hair Transplant for Women

A hair transplant for women moves healthy follicles from a donor area to the parts of the scalp that have thinned — a receding hairline, the crown or a widening parting — to rebuild the hairline and get hair growing there again, permanently.

How a hair transplant for women works

It starts with an assessment, because in women the cause matters as much as the pattern: hormonal changes, traction, stress and genetics do not call for the same plan. Once the cause is clear, healthy follicles are taken from a donor area — usually the back of the head — using FUE or the ARTAS iX robot, which works with millimetre precision and minimal invasion.

At Dharma Hair we also use 3D simulation, so you can see the expected result before anything is done. The follicles are then implanted following the angle, direction and density of your own hair, which is what makes the growth look natural rather than planted.

What a hair transplant gives you

Density and volume back

The procedure covers the areas where hair has thinned or gone, giving you fuller, more even hair.

A rested look

Rebuilding the front hairline and improving coverage frames the face again, and the change reads immediately.

Minimally invasive, no visible scars

With FUE or the ARTAS robot the recovery is quick and discreet, and the scalp is left intact — which matters when you wear your hair up.

It is your own hair

Because the grafts come from you, they match in colour, texture and direction, so nothing about the result looks artificial.

A permanent solution

The transplanted follicles are resistant to hereditary loss, so the result lasts without constant touch-ups.

Questions?

Frequently asked questions about hair transplants for women

Does it hurt?

No. The procedure is done under local anaesthetic, so you will not feel pain. You may notice mild tenderness in the following days, and it passes.

When will I see the final result?

Transplanted hair starts growing visibly from the third month, and the full result settles between nine and twelve months.

Will the transplanted hair fall out again?

Not from genetic causes: it is taken from areas resistant to loss. The hair that was not transplanted can keep thinning, though, which is why the plan usually includes looking after it.

Can I have it if my hair loss is from stress or hormonal changes?

Yes, but the cause has to be assessed first, to confirm a transplant is the right answer and that the result will hold.

Will there be scars?

No. With FUE or the ARTAS robot the incisions are tiny and practically invisible once healed.

Can I colour and style my hair as before?

Yes. Once the transplanted hair has grown in and settled, you can cut it, colour it and style it like the rest of your hair.

How long is the recovery?

Most patients are back to normal activity within a few days, following the aftercare instructions that protect the new follicles.
